LIGHT ASYLUM is the reverential EBM, darkwave, techno project of self-taught, multidisciplinary performance artist, founder, vocalist and producer Shannon Funchess. Founded in Brooklyn, New York in 2007, the project has toured extensively through Europe, Eastern Europe, North America and Scandinavia performing at nightclubs and festivals. Funchess has collaborated with Sweden’s The Knife and Detroit’s ADULT. as a featured vocalist and credited producer on their respective studio albums and was featured on TV On the Radio’s debut EP ‘Young Liar’s’ as well as !!!’s (chk chk chk) “Heart Of Hearts” single. Funchess has also been DJing nightclubs, renegade raves and art events since the mid 90’s with her first DJ gig as a resident at a pirate radio station in downtown Seattle, Washington and resident at the HotBox party at Aerospace Club.

Heavy Halo is conflict: darkness vs. light, noise vs. melody, machine vs. skin and bone. It is wide-eye idealism dragged down to the dirt by harsh reality. Heavy Halo is a Goth-Grunge blood-pact forged in the NYC underground between McKeever and Gosteffects. The band takes the spirit and existential angst of Alternative and Industrial and passes it through the shattered prism of the internet age, refracted and made new. Jagged guitars and raw electronics explode over gut-rattling 808’s. But at their core, Heavy Halo are melody junkies, lacing tracks with shameless hooks and McKeever’s 100% unfiltered vocals.

Solemn Shapes is a North American electronic, dark synth band based in Charlotte, NC. Scott Sunset and Melanie Foxfire perform live with synthesizers, samplers and drum machines to create dark distorted beats, vocal/sample effects and warped synth tones which evoke a haunting, psychedelic vibe…Solemn Shapes lives somewhere between 80’s horror soundtracks & a dark dance floor in the dead of night.
