Khalil Nasim is an artist, producer, and keyboardist from Henderson, NC. He is the founder of The Couch band and local hip-hop collective The Deviants. He uses his artistic talents as a way to stamp his expressions through points in recent history. His lyrics recall times past while admitting a level of humanity that positions him as a sort of scapegoat for the modern artist. Khalil’s musical journey began when he was young, penning raps by the age of 8 and playing piano in church weekly at 11. These combined passions along with the musical influence of his mother pushed him into a love for hip hop. As Khalil develops in his artistry, his personality continues to sprout through the rough hewn borders drawn by his childhood — a rose despite the thorns.
