Join us at Kings to celebrate a brilliant independent music venue in North Carolina: Charlotte’s The Milestone Club (or more familiarly, “Milestone”).  We’re screening the Raleigh premiere of the documentary How To Save A Milestone by filmmaker Jason Arthurs and journalist Liz McLaughlin.  The screening will be followed up with a Q&A panel of folks who worked on the movie and other various Milestone-heads.  And the evening will be capped off with a performance by Andy the Doorbum.

HOW TO SAVE A MILESTONE (90 mins)
Trailer
This punk rock Cinderella story documents the fight to save the iconic Milestone Club, where bands like Nirvana and R.E.M. have cut their teeth over its 50-year history. Featuring interviews with dozens of Milestone alumni, including the Violent Femmes, the film explores the trend of historic venues shutting down and the cultural impact of losing spaces like the Milestone.
