Hi folks – here’s a legit awesome bill and a little press about each of these excellent bands.
Asheville’s Get Right Band:
“Hell Yes Refresh recalls the catchy sonic pop of early MGMT and the quirky nature of the Flaming Lips.”
The Wild Is Calling
“iTopia sounds like the kind of grand conceptual work that Pink Floyd would make if that band were still around.”
Edwin Arnaudin, Mountain Xpress
Durham’s Pinkerton Raid:
The Pinkerton Raid is “a towering forest of indie rock with a timbre of folk that shadows Langhorne Slim, Cold War Kids and The Killers,” says THE SPILL.
Durham’s Brett Harris:
Brett Harris is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Durham, NC. In 2010 his debut LP Man of Few Words was featured by Paste Magazine’s “Best of What’s Next”, NPR’s “All Songs Considered: Second Stage”, and made several “Best of” lists, drawing comparisons to the work of Nick Lowe, Elvis Costello, Harry Nilsson, and Emitt Rhodes. Additionally, Brett has participated as a core band member in live performances of Big Star’s Third, playing throughout the US in addition to the UK, Spain, and Australia. He has also served as a touring member of Jangle Pop progenitors The dB’s. Noted critic Bill Kopp, in a review of his 2016 release Up in the Air, said the album “will have lovers of classic pop reaching for the ‘repeat’ button.”
