THE GENTRI BROTHERS

The Gentri Brothers is a four-piece funk-rock band consisting of three brothers (Luke, Austin, and Sean), and their bassist Zus. After gigging throughout their home base of North Carolina for years (and hosting some of the most insane all-night jams at Appalachian State University), the pandemic hit and everything ground to a halt. Rather than give up on the funk, the brothers doubled down on their music careers and started writing their debut album. As luck would have it, there was a multi-platinum music producer / engineer just a couple miles from their house—Kevin McNoldy (Dave Matthews, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Howie D / Backstreet Boys)—who helped them set up a home studio to record their tracks. As real life shut down, work got underway on what would become the Gentri’s first release, Tidal. If you love the classic sounds of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, wish there was a more mainstream and modern take on Zappa, and dig Bowie at his funkiest, you’ll feel right at home with The Gentri Brothers.
