NeilFest 2020

with Finger, Dexter Romweber, Motorolla + more

Time: 8:00PM

Admission: $10 | All Ages

Doors: 7:45PM

Neil Emery met Wayne Taylor, Bill Barefoot, and Sara Romweber at a Let’s Active / Echo and the Bunnymen show in the UK in 1984. A NC bond was born. Neil’s connection to NC ran deep. He visited often. At times he seemed to live here, and sometimes he did. Neil brought friends and family with him to visit and to be introduced to the music community that he found in NC as well as the NC coast, both of which Neil loved. Shakedown Records (Neil, Sean, & Seabrook), released music from NC bands Finger, Motorolla, and Small. After many inactive years, both Finger and Motorolla are getting back together to play in Neil’s memory and honor. Other musicians and bands participating are Jurgen Joarder (AUSTRALIA), Ed Wenn (UK), John Howie Jr, Dexter Romweber, Whom and Lazy Horse (Doug from The Connells, Bo, and Jon & Ricky, from Motorolla & Finger, respectively). Neil was part of the Triangle/NC music community for over 30 years. This community, along with Neil’s people from around the globe, are coming together for an evening of music and fellowship in honor and memory of Neil Emery. We are all the better to have had Neil in our lives.

Prior to the 7:45 show, there will be a semi-private “friends & family” visitation and musical memorial for Neil, starting at 5:30. In addition to many of the musicians already mentions, there will be music &/or speaking by Rebecca Emery, Dana Kletter (of blackgirls, Dish Dear Enemy and countless other bands), Sara Bell of (Angels, Dish, Shark Quest, Regina Hexaphone), Graeme Bird (live from Liverpool); Sean Tracy (UK), Wayne Taylor, Bill Barefoot.

Visitation will begin at 5:30. All friends of Neil are welcome!
