Meridian Brothers had so much fun at Anisette in April that they are back in Raleigh all the way from Colombia on Friday, July 14th, joined by ANCESTOR PIRATAS featuring Davey Blackburn of CURIOSIDADES de BOMBRILE, CHÓCALA, and Don Telling’s Island Mysteries. Be there, and wear yr dancing shoes. You will not be able to sit still for this one.
Meridian Brothers re-interpret all manners of Latin Tropical styles with a strong psychedelic and experimental sensibility. Since 1998, under the guidance of band leader Eblis Alvarez, they’ve galvanized their reputation as synthesizers of popular Latin American rhythms, augmented by sampling techniques, elaborate effects processing and idiosyncratic, theatrical vocal styles which channel imaginary characters with both pathos and humor.
