Martin Bisi – producer, musician, and central figure in the musical history of NYC for the past four decades.
Martin Bisi and band are touring in support of BC35, an album marking the 35 year anniversary of his recording studio – BC Studio.
Founding BC Studio in 1981 with the help of Brian Eno and Bill Laswell, Bisi has recorded landmark music there by Sonic Youth, Swans, John Zorn, Africa Bambaataa, Unsane, Cop Shoot Cop, Herbie Hancock’s Rockit, Violent. Femmes, JG Thirlwell, The Dresden Dolls and countless others.
BC35 includes musicians from Swans, Sonic Youth, Cop Shoot Cop, White Hills, Alice Donut, Live Skull, Pop1280, and Insect Ark, and was recorded live over a weekend in January 2016.
His band covers post-rock/punk, Industrial and experimental territory.
