“The community survives because it comes together when it’s called for. If we don’t let the community help us when we are in need, it dies. So when the opportunities arise let’s take them!”
—Kirk Ross – Rocker, Writer, Stand-Up Guy
In late January 2018 a fire ravaged the home and recording studio of Jerry Kee, producer, engineer, musician, soundman, and integral part of the independent music community of North Carolina (and beyond!) Many of us made our first recordings at Duck Kee, Jerry’s studio, a rite of passage. Jerry shared Duck Kee, his home, with many musicians. He helped them to realize their vision, and did so with grace and kindness. There is so much love and gratitude for him and for the work he’s done. Let’s help Jerry build the next version of Duck Kee (this would be studio #9) and make a new home for him, and for everyone.
