King's Raleigh

FAQ

Is Kings All Ages?
Although we can’t promise that the bathroom graffiti, stage banter, etc. will be pre-schooler friendly, we welcome folks of all ages to Kings.  If you are younger than 18, you will need a guardian with you or expressed permission from a guardian in advance of the show.  There is a $5 surcharge paid at the door for attendees under 21 who are not accompanied by a guardian.  This goes directly to the bar staff to supplement their tips.  Some shows may be 18+ or 21+.  It will be specifically noted in the show listing on the calendar.

Does Kings have seating?
There are about 20 bar stools, and benches that seat about 15–20 more people. Our shows are mostly “standing room,” but we have chairs and stools available at every show: tall stools with no backs and with backs, and regular-height cushioned folding chairs.  Just ask a staff member and we can get what you need.  Occasionally, for game show nights, stand-up comedy events, lectures, movie nights, or presentations we fill the middle of the room with folding chairs.

Is Kings accessible?
Unfortunately, we do not have a chairlift or an elevator.  Kings is on the second floor, up one flight of 23 steps: standard depth/height, reinforced with diamond-plate steel, with sturdy railings on both sides.  Once you are on the second floor, we are ADA compliant: we have a ramp to our bar area, accessible bathroom stalls in both of our bathrooms, and seating (see above).

Where can I buy advance tickets for shows at Kings?
You can find advance tickets on the front page of our website kingsraleigh.com.  Most of our tickets are sold through Etix.com.  Sometimes we work with promoters who sell tickets through other platforms, but all tickets will be available on our website.  Any shows that don’t have advance tickets will have tickets available at the door.

What are my payment options?
For advance tickets, Etix accepts all major credit cards and Paypal for online purchases, as well as Applepay/Googlepay for mobile purchases.  At Kings’ door and bar, we accept cash, card, Applepay, and all that other stuff. There is an ATM at the door because cash is king!

How do we feel about scalping tickets?
We have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for ticket scalping. If you are caught reselling tickets above the original price, your tickets will be voided and you will not be allowed to purchase tickets to any further shows at Kings. Furthermore, tickets that are bought through scalpers are not valid.  However, it is fine to resell tickets at the ORIGINAL price if you can no longer attend the show.  We highly recommend only purchasing tickets from kingsraleigh.com or from people you know in real life.

When is Kings open and what are the usual show and set times?
We generally open doors one hour before the show starts, usually doors at 7:00 pm and show at 8:00 pm.  The door time and show start time are listed with each show on the website.  Please refer to the individual listing for each show to be certain of dates and times.

Do you have parking?
There is a great deal of street parking that is free at night all through downtown. If it is difficult to park very near the club, we suggest Moore Square Parking Deck (233 S. Wilmington Street). It’s less than two blocks west and usually there are spaces available.

Is there re-entry?
You can usually re-enter but you should confirm with the door person before exiting the building.

Do I need a membership?
Not anymore! You just need a ticket.

I’m on the guest list…
If you are supposed to be on a guest list, be sure you know who has put you on the list. It is also a good idea to confirm with that person that you are on the list 24 hours before the show. Valid ID is always required at Kings and is required to get in with advance tickets for the will call list.  We are not responsible for mistakes made by band members, radio stations, or other promotional groups. <3

Am I able to get a refund if I am unable to make the show?
We are only able to offer refunds if the performance/show/event is cancelled.

Bought “print at home” tickets online but don’t have a printer?
We’ll still let you in, your name will be on record at Will Call.

Do we accept electronic tickets on iPhones etc?
Yes.

What is the policy for photography?
We follow the requirements from performers/artists.  If an artist requests no photography/filming, we uphold that request.  Otherwise we encourage photos, but ask that photographers be respectful with flash.
